These are my top 5 favorite christian songs that I like to listen to. When I am having a tough day, I like to listen to these songs and they remind me of God's love. This inspired me to write about these songs because I like to listen and play these songs on the piano and they make me feel better.
1. FLAWLESS BY MERCYME
"No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars Still the truth is The cross has made The cross has made you flawless"
I had the privilege of going to a MercyMe concert when I went on the Focus on the Family's 40th anniversary cruise. They performed on the ship and out of all of their many songs, this is one of them that stood out to me the most.
2. GREATER BY MERCYME
"‘Cause I hear a voice and He calls me redeemed When others say I’ll never be enough And greater is the One living inside of me Than he who is living in the world"
This is the second MercyMe song that stood out to me. It reminds me that I shouldn't worry about being perfect or making sure other people approve of me because God is greater than us.
3. SPEAK LIFE BY TOBYMAC
"Look into the eyes of the broken hearted Watch them come alive as soon as you speak hope You speak love, you speak You speak life "
This song was one of my favorites growing up. It made me realize that anything and everything we say can change someone's life. We can either choose to speak death or speak life.
4. FIX MY EYES BY FOR KING & COUNTRY
"I'd love like I'm not scared Give when it's not fair Live life for another Take time for a brother Fight for the weak ones Speak out for freedom Find faith in the battle Stand tall but above it all Fix my eyes on you, on you"
I love this song! It reminds me to look to God. I can sometimes be very a very busy person, and I need to remember that I need to fix my eyes on my creator.
5. O COME TO THE ALTAR BY ELEVATION WORSHIP
"O come to the altar The Father's arms are open wide Forgiveness was bought with The precious blood of Jesus Christ"
I recently started playing piano at my church. This song was one of the first that I played and I really enjoyed practicing it. This song showed me that no matter what I do, God's love for me is greater. He sent down his only son so that I could be saved. In the picture below, I am playing at church for the first time. I was so so so nervous! My youth pastor (the one playing the guitar) was very encouraging and inspiring.
